All About BAS Agents

BAS stands for Business Activity Statement. BAS agents are registered accountants or accountants who offer BAS relevant service.

BAS is used by companies to report and pay some tax commitments. Some people also have to provide quarterly pay-as-you-go tax installment use the Business Activity Statement. You can also hire a BAS statement agent to avail BAS relevant services.

To provide these services to the client, you must be signed by both the Council as a BAS agent or a tax agent. BAS representative services capture most of the services provided by the majority of accountants.

They go through a Code of Specialist Conduct that imposes various obligations. One of these responsibilities is the obligation to continue the Professional Indemnity insurance to a certain level. BAS agents also imposed sanctions and penalties management.

All bookkeepers who want to offer services Business Activity Reports for a fee, must present a Certificate IV in Financial Solutions (Bookkeeping or Accounting) or higher to be eligible for enrollment.

If you are employed under the supervision of another BAS or registered tax agent, you cannot offer tax or BAS service to a customer known to your monitoring.
