Spinal Decompression – Non-Surgical Treatment for Back Pain

Sometimes the simplest technology is the best. Take medicine for example. There are literally dozens of ways to treat neck and back pain. One of the most successful and one that is recognized as very effective in relieving severe pain is called spinal decompression therapy.

Often, in cases of back pain and neck, one or more of the vertebrae become misaligned. Other times, the gel material in the vertebrae reaches or bump protrudes from the disc. This is called a herniated disc and is usually very painful.

Spinal decompression is a simple, non-surgical treatment where the patient is gently but firmly secured to a padded table with straps and blocks to complete immobilization. Once the patient is in place the table slowly adjusts the difficulty of the vertebrae relieving the pressure on the disc concerned.

The first thing that comes to mind for many patients is that such a procedure can be painful. In fact, just the opposite is the case. In fact, as a precaution, the patient is given a safety switch that allows it to stop treatment at any time.

Often, patients receiving this treatment have reported immediate relief of chronic pain that was present in some cases, for years. There are many people who could benefit from decompression treatment of the spine.
